Elementary school students who struggle with math are individually paired up with a local high school or university student. Paired mentor/buddies meet regularly in a classroom setting at the buddy’s school or nearby community centre. A designated site coordinator is present at all sessions to assist in mentoring our buddies.
We follow the math scope and sequence as outlined by the BC curriculum. The program covers math numeracy, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
The program is offered three times per year, with two terms during the school year (8-16 sessions each) and one summer term (8 – 12 sessions).
