Mentor Application

Regardless of what stage you are in your education, we hope you will join us and stay with us for the remainder of your years as a student. Each year as a mentor you will become more skilled and helpful to a child. Experienced mentor tutors and coordinators develop a wealth of experience and contribute valuable ideas that we seek and incorporate into our program structure.  The longer you are involved with our organization, the more ways you will contribute and feel a part of it.

Mentor responsibilities include: attending math/ reading training, orientation, Mentor sessions, and Mentor meetings, completing Mentor reports, preparing lesson material for each session, tracking the student’s progress, reporting to Program Coordinators and Executive Coordinator, and assisting in volunteer recruitment.

Program Coordinator Application

Program Coordinator responsibilities include: attending math/ reading training, orientation, Mentor sessions, and Program Coordinator meetings, facilitating Mentor meetings, facilitating debrief after each Mentor session, tracking Mentor reports, completing Program Coordinator reports, taking attendance, guiding and providing feedback to Mentors, providing references for Mentors, reporting to Executive Coordinator, and assisting in volunteer recruitment. This is a leadership role that requires experience as a mentor.

Executive Coordinator Application

Executive Coordinator responsibilities include: attending math/ reading training, orientation, mentor sessions, and Executive Coordinator meetings, facilitating Program Coordinator meetings, tracking Program Coordinator reports, completing Executive Coordinator reports, taking attendance, guiding and providing feedback to Mentors and Program Coordinators, providing references for Program Coordinators and Mentors, act as a liaison between Learning Buddies Network and the school/site, and assisting in volunteer recruitment. This is a leadership role that requires experience as both a mentor and Program Coordinator.
