As a student, it is important to store many items in your backpack for school use. Although the type of items can vary between people, below are all the essential things a typical student would need in their backpack! According to UBC student residence, some of the top items for a student to carry are: a computer, a charger and headphones.

1. Computers

Especially in today’s world where pencil and paper are becoming obsolete, computers are important to have, as they are frequently used throughout the day. It is a great tool that is needed to access school resources such as course syllabus, assignments and even final exams! In addition, computers are needed to run programs like OneNote and Powerpoint, which are often used by students. In fact, certain programs could be a requirement to have in order to be able to take a class. This is why it is crucial to have a device that will allow you to do everything mentioned above. You might be wondering which laptop is best for you? Michelle from Techrader recommends students to a 2-in-1 laptop, such as the Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen, as it gives you the choice to use it as a laptop or as a portable tablet. The tablet is a great option to have for students who wish to write notes instead of typing them out!

2. Chargers

According to Collegeinfogeek, electronic devices are another item that is important to have in your backpack. If you are a student who studies for a long period of time or constantly uses electronic devices throughout the day, then you should carry a charger with you. This way, you can quickly charge any device that is running low on battery and continue your studies without interruption. So next time you leave your house to go to a study session, don't forget to bring your chargers!

3. Headphones

Lastly, headphones will be helpful for students who enjoy listening to music when they study. Personally, I like to turn on my headphones in areas that are loud, such as a cafe; it helps to listen to my favourite music rather than constantly hear other people talk around me, which breaks my focus. Also, musicgateway states that listening to music can help improve focus and memory, which are important for a student to succeed in school.

In the end, what you carry in your backpack is completely up to you. Treat this post as a general guideline for you to decide what to carry in your backpack. Everyone will have items that will help them in a unique way. Find what works for you and test it out!
