School-Life Balance
Are you having trouble keeping up with schoolwork, maintaining your social life, or even getting enough sleep? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Maintaining school-life balance is challenging, but it is important for avoiding issues, such as burnout. Hopefully, this blog will give you some advice on how to obtain it!
1. Time Management
E’layna from the University of Guelph states that planning and noting down what you want to accomplish ahead of time will help you stay organized and productive. This is especially important as a student because there are so many things to do! You can allocate more time on events that you find important, and less time on events that can be delayed. This will help you reduce procrastination and stay stress-free.
2. Taking Care of Your Health
Being productive and accomplishing your goals is great, but it should not be done at the expense of your own health. According to UBC student services, if you do not take care of yourself, productivity can decrease and stress can increase. Therefore, your physical and mental health should be monitored and taken care of. If you feel tired or burnt out, find a time to rest. During rest time, do something you enjoy, such as playing with your friends. Taking time off will also help you re-evaluate the position you are in and make healthy decisions moving forward.
At the end of the day, there is no “right” school-life balance that everyone should adhere to. Test out what works for you by focusing on your own needs and implementing some tips you have learned in this blog. It may take a couple of tries, but eventually, you will find it.
