Scholarship Awards
The LBN Scholarship was introduced to thank volunteers for all the hard work that they put into making LBN a success. Coordinators do all the heavy lifting to make sure our programs run smoothly. We are very lucky to have such a dedicated and passionate group of leaders and wanted to show our appreciation. As education is a foundational pillar for our organization, these scholarships are to help our volunteers continue their learning through higher education.
LBN is offering up to one reward of $500 and up to three awards of $200 to persons chosen among eligible volunteers. We expect that we will have excellent applicants for all awards. Financial need will be a significant consideration when there are more qualified applicants than there are awards. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following award criteria:

Volunteered with LBN in a leadership capacity (Program Coordinator, Executive Coordinator, or Regional Coordinator)
for at least two years to be considered for the $500 award
for at least one year to be considered for the $200 award
Any student enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in an accredited college or university in the next academic year.

All submissions must include a completed online application form with short-answer responses (see below).
A Selection Committee will score the applications based on the following criteria:

Marks for the application package will be weighted as follows:
Application – 50%
Short Answers – 50%
The short answers will be evaluated on:
Claim and support – 45%
Development of ideas – 45%
Quality of writing – 10%
Applications for 2024 are now open until May 31, 2024. Applications will be reviewed in June of 2024.
