Fear not as there are no spoilers, however the contents of each book will be briefly mentioned, so be aware! Once you've read this blog, I encourage you to try some of them out.

1. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

During the summer, picking up Ender's Game is an excellent choice for an exciting reading experience. This captivating science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card takes place in the future, where Earth faces a threat from aliens. The book combines thrilling adventures with deep thoughts about leadership, personal identity, and the complexities of good and evil. It's a compelling option for summer that will keep you eagerly flipping through the pages to discover more about Ender's remarkable journey.

2. When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi

If you are an aspiring doctor or wish to gain a better understanding of life in the medical field, then I recommend you to check out When Breath Becomes Air! It is a profound book that explores life, death, and what it means to truly exist. Written by the late Dr. Paul Kalanithi, it tells the story of his journey from a talented neurosurgeon to facing his own mortality due to terminal lung cancer. Kalanithi's introspective and beautifully written words make readers contemplate the purpose of life and the pursuit of meaning. The book also provides valuable insights into the healthcare field, shedding light on the emotional and ethical challenges doctors face. It gently reminds us to appreciate every moment, acknowledge life's fragility, and prioritize what truly matters. With its message of resilience and love, When Breath Becomes Air inspires us to live fully, even when confronted with adversity.

3. The Martian by Andy Weir

The Martian is a great summer read that transports you on a thrilling adventure to Mars. It revolves around survival, intelligence, and scientific precision. Through its vivid depictions of the Martian landscapes and the protagonist's determined struggle, it offers a respite from the summer heat. The book engrosses you with its clever blend of humour, resourcefulness, and unexpected turns, serving as a reminder of the remarkable adaptability and resilience of humanity.
